Nabha, October 18
A 52-year-old woman, a resident of Nabha, is suspected to have died of dengue at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI), Chandigarh, this morning. The victim has been identified as Lalita Rani, a resident of Ranjit Nagar in Nabha.
Lalita’s husband said his wife was suffering from fever for the past some days and had been getting treatment from private hospitals. He said later she was taken to the Patiala Heart Care Centre from where the doctors referred her to the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research yesterday, where she died this morning.
It is pertinent to mention here that Sub-Divisional Magistrate Jashanpreet Kaur Gill along with Health Department and Municipal Committee officials had visited the locality about a week ago. The Sub-Divisional Magistrate had even served a notice to some residents for not removing water from coolers.
