Aadhaar services at more Sampark centres

For the convenience of city residents, the Chandigarh regional office of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), in association with the UT Department of Information Technology (IT), has expanded its Aadhaar-related services to 12 more Sampark centres.

According to an official spokesperson, of the 42 Sampark centres in Chandigarh, till now, Aadhaar-related services were being offered in eight centres. With the procurement of new enrolment kits by the IT Department, the services have now been expanded to 20 Sampark  centres.

The Sampark centres where residents can avail of the Aadhaar-related services in Chandigarh are located in Sector 7,  10, 15, 17, the DC office Sampark kiosk, Sector 18,  21,  22, 23, 27, 32, 35, 37, 40, 41, 43, 47 and 48, and the Industrial Area, Phase I, and Mani Majra.

All Aadhaar-related services such as enrolment, updation in data like correction in name, address, mobile number, change of photograph or full biometric update will be available at these centres.

Residents facing difficulty in authentication using the Aadhaar card for availing services can visit their nearest Sampark centre to update their biometrics.

The spokesperson said the new arrangement would benefit the residents, especially senior citizens, women and children, as they could walk into their nearest Sampark centre for availing of the Aadhaar-related services.

The Aadhaar enrolment in Chandigarh is 100 per cent with 11,62,010 residents having the card. The estimated population of Chandigarh as on January 1, 2017, was 11,10,820.

Apart from the Sampark centres, the residents can also avail of the updation facilities at their nearest post office.

The post offices in Chandigarh where residents can avail of the Aadhaar-related services are located in Sector 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14,  General Post Office-17, 18, 19, 20, 22, 23, 26, 30, 31, 34, 35, 36, 43 and 47, Mani Majra and Ram Darbar.

Enrolment for Aadhaar is free of cost while residents have to pay Rs 25 for any updation in Aadhaar, said the spokesperson.
