CHANDIGARH:A fine bowling display by Abhishek helped Chandigarh boys gain a 63-run first innings lead against Ambala and earn three points in their opening match of the Haryana Inter-District U-19 Cricket Championship at the Mahajan Ground, Mani Majra, on Wednesday.

A fine bowling display by Abhishek helped Chandigarh boys gain a 63-run first innings lead against Ambala and earn three points in their opening match of the Haryana Inter-District U-19 Cricket Championship at the Mahajan Ground, Mani Majra, on Wednesday. 

Chasing Chandigarh’s first innings total of 240 runs, Ambala boys were all out for 177 runs after resuming the day at 25/3. Skipper Rajan made a valiant 104 but could not help his team surpass the Chandigarh total. 

For the hosts, Abhishek picked 4/29, while Naman Bansal (2/46) and skipper Treyaksh Bali (2/39) claimed two wickets each. 

Chandigarh, in their second innings were tottering on 38/3, when the match ended. 

Bali scored 27 runs, while first innings’ centurion Monarch Goyal made five runs.
