Accused Dalbir already in Mohali police custody

MOHALI:Dalbir Singh, whose name has cropped up during the investigation in bouncer Meet murder case by the Panchkula police, has already been arrested by the Mohali police.

Dalbir Singh, whose name has cropped up during the investigation in bouncer Meet murder case by the Panchkula police, has already been arrested by the Mohali police.  According to sources, the CIA wing of the Mohali police has nabbed Dalbir Singh five days ago in an attempt to murder case, registered on May 3 at the Dera Bassi police station. 

Police sources claimed that Dalbir Singh had allegedly provided the weapon (.9 mm pistol) and car (Swift), used in the murder of Amit Sharma, aka Meet, on May 8, in front of Saketri Temple. 

Talking to Chandigarh Tribune, a senior police officer confirmed that they had arrested Dalbir Singh in an attempt to murder case, registered under Sections 307, 323, 341, 506, 148, 149 of the IPC at Dera Bassi police station on May 3. 

“Dalbir Singh is a friend of Mani and Laddi, who have been arrested by the police in the case. The accused had fired four bullets from the pistol, provided by Dalbir Singh”, claimed the sources.  Dalbir Singh, a taxi operator, has seven to eight cases for various crimes registered against him, including robbery, brawls  to name a few, at the Dera Bassi police station, said the police. At present, Dalbir Singh is lodged at the Patiala Jail.
