Chandigarh, August 13
The Federation of Sectors Welfare Association (FOSWAC) has lambasted the Administration for its failure to check the deteriorating law and order situation in the city. Members felt that women were unsafe. Police presence is limited at night. A meeting of the executive committee was held at the Community Centre of Sector 8 today.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Baljinder Singh Bittu, chairman, FOSWAC, and was attended by representatives of various associations of the city. Bittu said the crime graph in the city had gone up. CCTV cameras were not working properly and nobody was held accountable for this.
He raised the issue of door-to-door garbage collection, saying the rates were going to increase two to three times per month. — TNS
