Anhat, Agaaz share lead on opening day

CHANDIGARH:Anhat Singh, Agaaz Bansal and Arnav Kushwaha scored three points each to share the lead on the opening day of the Chandigarh U-15 Open Chess Championship at New Public School, Sector 18, here today.

Anhat Singh, Agaaz Bansal and Arnav Kushwaha scored three points each to share the lead on the opening day of the Chandigarh U-15 Open Chess Championship at New Public School, Sector 18, here today. 

Aditya Malhotra, Jaspreet Singh, Parus Banota, Ishaan Narang and Manav Gupta were placed second at the close of the third round with a total of 2½  points each. 

In the girls’ U-15 category, Vishruti and Aanshita Jain shared the lead after the duo ended the third round at three points each. 

A total of 62 boys and girls are participating in the championship, which is being organised by the Chandigarh Chess Association. 

The top four players in both boys and girls’ categories will be selected to represent Chandigarh in the national championship to be held in Gujarat from October 1 to 9.
