Led by Anmolpreet Singh's double century, Punjab posted first innings total of 529 runs against Himachal Pradesh on the second day of their Colonel CK Nayudu Trophy match at Dhruv Pandove Stadium here today.
Electing to bat, Punjab wrapped their innings at 529 runs with opener Sanvir Singh scoring a sedate 105 and Anmolpreet hammering 202 runs of 259 balls before being caught by EC Sen off MJ Dagar. Earlier this month, Anmolpreet had struck a half-century in his Ranji Trophy debut against the hill state at Dharamsala.
Skipper AP Sharma led from the front for HP, claiming 7/175. In reply, Himachal were reeling at 94/4 at the close of the day’s play. For the hosts, off-spinner Arpit Pannu bagged 2/21, while Sanvir Singh and captain Karan Kaila claimed a wicket apiece. — TNS
