Ayush, Jaiveer help St. John’s to victory

Chandigarh, May 17

Ayush and Jaiveer shared seven wickets between them as hosts St. John's High School, Sector 26, beat DAV School, Sector 11, Panchkula, by 59 runs in the ongoing U-14 Brother MC Cann Cricket Tournament here today.

Batting first, St. John's were all out for a modest 115 in 20 overs. Samarth (25) and Mudit (21) made vital contributions to the total.  

In reply, DAV boys were bowled out for 56 runs in 15.2 overs as Ayush (4/11) and Jaiveer (3/14) ran through the side.   

Satluj boys win 

In the second match of the day, Satluj Public School, Sector 4, Panchkula, beat AKSIPS, Sector 45, by four wickets. 

Opting to bat, AKSIPS were bowled out for just 87 runs in 18.4 overs as Vishal (3/19) and Nikhil (3/14) bagged three wickets apiece to put the opponents on a tight leash.

In reply, Satluj Public School lost six wickets before they reached home in the 19th over of the match.  

Garv Sharma (29) and Saksham Thakur (25) made significant contributions with the bat to help side to victory. For AKSIPS, Arpit claimed 2/27.

Daksh helps Satluj win

Meanwhile, in the U-17 category, Satluj Public School, Sector 4, Panchkula, beat Chandigarh Baptist School by six wickets. 

Satluj boys rode on fine bowling spells by Daksh Munrao (4/7) and Karan Sharma (3/3) to bundle out Baptists for a paltry 69 before Aman garg (19) and Harish Sharma (17) made significant contributions to help the side reach home in 14 overs with six wickets to spare.    

Sanchit (1/7) and Ritik Shukla (1/5) claimed a wicket apiece for Baptist School. 

Stephen’s humble Saupin’s

In another match, St. Stephen's, Sector 45, beat Saupin's School, Sector 32, by seven wickets. 

Batting first, Saupin's lost wickets at regular intervals to fold up at 114 runs in 19.2 overs. Siddharth was the pick of the bowlers for  St. Stephen's, claiming 4/15. Ansul returned with the figures of 3/19.   

In reply, St. Stephen's rode on a solid 74-run knock by Anshul Chaudhary to scamper home in 12.5 overs with seven wickets in hand.
