The Department of Transfusion Medicine, PGIMER, Chandigarh, marked World Blood Donor Day on Thursday by organising blood a donation camp at the Punjab Raj Bhawan in the state-of-art ‘blood mobile van’. The camp was inaugurated by UT Administrator VP Badnore.
He appreciated the state-of-the-art blood mobile van, which is unique in its public outreach for the promotion of volunteer blood donation.
Second blood donation camp was at Bridge Market, Sector 17, Chandigarh, It was organised by the Shree Shiv Kanwar Mahasangh Charitable Trust, Panchkula, and was also inaugurated by Badnore.
Another blood donation camp was at Blood Donation Centre in Advanced Trauma Centre, PGIMER, Chandigarh. Voluntary blood donors were facilitated by mementoes, certificates and pens as a token of appreciation. Around 300 units of blood were collected on this occasion.
