Chandigarh, June 23

Pawan Kumar Bansal, former Union Minister, and Pradeep Chhabra, president, Chandigarh Congress, criticised MP Kirron Kher and the Mayor for their “failure” to solve the sanitation problem of the city.

The duo, along with others, visited Dadu Majra today. While interacting with residents of the area, Bansal said the situation had gone from bad to worse in the last three years. The city generates 350 to 400 tonnes of solid waste daily. The Mayor failed to make an alternative arrangement after the plant stopped taking solid waste. With this, the situation at the dumping ground worsened and the residents faced inconvenience.

Bansal said the residents of the area suffered from many ailments and demanded that the MC should make some arrangement for the residents immediately. TNS
