Senior BJP leaders Yashwant Sinha, Shatrughan Sinha and Harmohan Dhawan are facing humiliation from the BJP. This was revealed by Dhawan after Shatrughan Sinha met him at his house here today.

The former Union Minister said it was not a political visit, but Shatrughan came to his house as a personal guest while on his way to Ludhiana to attend a wedding.

“We discussed that we are being humiliated by the party and have been sidelined. I am not even being invited to party functions. The party did not care about those — Murli Manohar Joshi and LK Advani — who had founded it, why would it care about us?” commented Dhawan.

Former BJP MP is expected to spring a surprise to the saffron party likely by contesting independently or by floating his own party. At present, he is running an NGO and a health clinic.

He had supported MP Kirron Kher in the last Lok Sabha elections, but now feels sidelined by the party. BJP president Sanjay Tandon seemingly also harbours dreams of contesting MP elections from Chandigarh. Thus, party is facing factionalism within.

Earlier, the trio was supposed to gather at Dhawan’s house in Sector 9 and address a press conference there. However, with veteran leader Yashwant Sinha involved in a farmers’ protest in Maharashtra, his visit to Chandigarh was postponed.

The two leaders are known for open attacks on the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
