Ahead of the upcoming International Yoga Day, a yoga awareness and ayurveda camp is being held at the Government College of Yoga Education and Health, Sector 23, here.

Over 90 people are participating in the five-day camp, which was inaugurated by Joint Director, Sports, and college Principal Mahender Singh on Monday.

“We are organising such camps from the past one month. Apart from Chandigarh residents, we also have participation from Panchkula and Mohali,” he said.

During the two-hour long sessions, participants are being made aware about various yogasanas to improve their lifestyle,” Singh added.

“Through such camps, we are encouraging people to participate in large numbers in Yoga Day celebrations. We are expecting more than 1,000 participants from our own college,” he said.

An exhibition of digital paintings on yogasanas was also being organised during the camp, Singh said.

The camp is being conducted by Roshan Lal, Sarghi Kohli and Rajwant Kaur.
