A team of the Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights visited St Kabir Public School, Sector 26, and Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26, to inspect the infrastructure in view of the safety and security of students and implementation of the RTE Act-2009.
The team comprised CCPCR Chairperson Harjinder Kaur, law officer Kartar Singh, RTE consultant Chanchal Singh and POCSO consultant Niti Mohan.
At St Kabir Public School, the team found the work of school management and cleanliness on the premises appreciable. Later, the team inspected Strawberry Fields High School and found fire extinguishers expired. However, cleanliness was maintained at the school. Toilets were found to be well-maintained. EWS seats were filled as per the RTE norms.
