Chandigarh, June 26
The UT Chandigarh Skill Development Mission was launched today. Its logo was released by VP Singh Badnore, Administrator, Chandigarh, and Rajiv Partap Rudy, Minister of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India, in the presence of Parimal Rai, Adviser to the Administrator, and Anurag Agarwal, Home Secretary-cum-Secretary, Technical Education.
A presentation was given by Rakesh Kumar Popli, director, Chandigarh Skill Development Mission, on the action plan. The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has set the three-year target for for which Rs.15.84 crore will be sanctioned
Rajiv Pratap Rudy highlighted various initiatives being taken by the ministry. MP Kirron Kher said children in the 14-18 age-group should be given skill development training. Parimal Rai, Adviser to the Administrator, said colleges and schools in the city had the best infrastructure. — TNS
