Class XII student booked on abduction charge

The police have registered a case against a Class XII student under Sections 363 and 366-A of the IPC and the POCSO Act-2012 for kidnapping a minor girl of Kharar.

The father of the girl, who resides in Sector 124, here, has complained to the police that his daughter aged 16 years, who a student of Class XII, was missing from June 8.

  When she did not return in the evening, he enquired from the parents of the accused, who is her classmate and a resident of Mohali, and came to know that the boy was also missing. 

The victim’s father has alleged that the girl has been kidnapped by the boy.

He said about six months ago, the boy had proposed to marry his daughter but they had declined it as she was a minor.  The police have started an investigation into the case. — OC
