Traffic was disrupted on the Chandigarh-Ambala highway due to an accident involving two trucks near the Dera Bassi flyover on Thursday morning.

The mishap took place around 8.30 am when a truck heading towards the Chandigarh side hit another one, which was going ahead of it, on the Dera Bassi flyover.

The impact of the collision was such that the truck, which was going ahead, veered on to the other side of the highway and overturned.

Meanwhile, the other truck had a breakdown on the flyover. The drivers managed to escape unhurt.

A large number of commuters were stuck on the Dera Bassi flyover for hours, leading to a traffic jam. Many vehicles, including buses, coming from the Ambala side lined up due to the jam.
