Chandigarh, April 17

The local women wing of the Congress protested against increasing rape incidents in the country at the Sector 17 Plaza here on Tuesday. The protesters also raised slogans against the BJP-led government.

Congress women wing president Anita Sharma said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was silent on the rape incidents in the country. The BJP leaders assumed power using the slogan “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” and now, they were trying to save the rape accused, she alleged.

City Congress president Pradeep Chhabra along with other party leaders, including Madhu Bansal, also took part in the protest. — TNS
