Contractor booked for obstructing public servant from performing duty

CHANDIGARH: A case of assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from the discharge of his duty has been registered against a private contractor on the complaint of an executive engineer of the UT.



Chandigarh, August 13 

A case of assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from the discharge of his duty has been registered against a private contractor on the complaint of an executive engineer of the UT. The complainant, Sukhbir Singh, alleged that contractor Rahul Kohli obstructed his way and threatened him of dire consequences.  The complainant had reportedly visited Raipur Kalan and a Makhan Majra school, finding discrepancies in the work, following which an entry was made by the Executive Engineer regarding the same in the site order book.

The  official has alleged that the contractor blocked his way, caught hold of him and threatened him.  A case under Sections 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions), 341 (wrongful restraint), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC has been registered. — TNS
