Cops beaten up inside police post, 2 booked

PANCHKULA: The Panchkula police have booked two persons for allegedly beating up cops and damaging government property inside the Ramgarh police post.

Panchkula, February 17

The Panchkula police have booked two persons for allegedly beating up cops and damaging government property inside the Ramgarh police post.

As per an FIR registered at the Chandimandir police station, Home Guards Constable Chuhar Singh stated that he, along with his seniors, were at the police post when some people were creating a ruckus and using abusive language after rolling down the shutter of Goel Sweets Shop. They stopped when cops warned them. However, they again started using foul language later and were taken to the police post.

After entering the police post, the accused — Akhil Goel and Nikhil Goel — started throwing files and furniture, tore his uniform and attacked him. A few minutes later, female members of their family also came there and manhandled cops before fleeing the police post. — TNS
