Panchkula, June 21
Eight-year-old Sameer Ahmed, who had drowned in an overflowing nullah at Indira Colony on June 19, was buried on Wednesday.
His family also submitted an memorandum to the Panchkula SDM, demanding action against HUDA XEN and the contractor, who failed to install railing on both sides of the nullah.
The family also demanded adequate compensation. The police said the boy, Sameer Ahmed, was playing with his sister and other children in the afternoon on June 19. Eyewitnesses said there was a slope outside his house towards the overflowing nullah and he suddenly fell into it. Next day, his body was recovered from Zirakpur. — TNS
