Eight held for drinking in public, granted bail

Chandigarh, June 25

A special drive against consuming liquor at public places was carried out at different parts of the city. Under the drive, a total of eight cases were registered at different police stations in the city. Eight persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public places. All accused were later released on bail.

The drive will continue in future also. Apart from this, two persons were arrested and a total of 20 quarters and 3 bottles of country wine were recovered from them. Cases have been registered against them. Later, the accused were also released on bail. — TNS
