Tribune Model School is celebrating English Literary Week by conducting sessions on ‘The Art of Story Telling’ by the renowned story teller, Deeptha Vivekanand, for the students of Class X. Deeptha is an ardent advocate of storytelling as a learning aid.
Students adopt plants
Government Model High School, Sector 49-D, celebrated Diversity Day. Over 50 students of the school adopted a plant on the school premise on the occasion. They took an oath to take care of the adopted plants. The students established a water corner for birds and many students brought waste material from their home and prepared a good quality pot for providing drinking water. Headmistress Lovleen Kaur addressed students regarding shortage of drinking water.
‘No tobacco’ declamation contest
As many as 65 schools participated in a declamation contest on ‘No tobacco’ held at St. Stephen’s School in Sector 45. Garima Rai of St Joseph’s School, Sector 44, and Anhad Kaur of Bhawan Vidyalya, Sector 27, were declared winners.
Special assembly on etiquette
A special assembly was organised at AKSIPS-45 Smart School where in students were told about polite behavior and etiquette. Importance of magic words—‘Sorry’ and ‘Thank you’—were stressed upon. The model behavior to be adopted on the school premises and home was discussed. Rhymes related to the topic were also recited on the occasion.—TNS
