Finance company gives scholarship to 35 meritorious students

CHANDIGARH:Paul Merchants Ltd, a finance company, as part of its corporate social responsibility, offered scholarships to 35 meritorious students of government schools in Chandigarh.

Paul Merchants Ltd, a finance company, as part of its corporate social responsibility, offered scholarships to 35 meritorious students of government schools in Chandigarh. 

The scholarships were given away to 35 students who have excelled in Class X board exams. The initiative was launched with an inauguration ceremony by chief guest Nirmal Chand, RBI Director. 

The chief guest said: “Such programmes not only encourage the students to pursue their education further, but are an endeavour towards building a sustainable society. Education is most important for all. It is the strength to a person that helps him/her develop good values, thoughts and ideals.”

S Paul, Chairman and Managing Director, Paul Merchants, praised the students for their efforts and motivated them to pursue education for a better life.

The company also donated a multi-utility van to the Kartar Aasra Trust, an old-age home, near Sukhna Lake here. The objective was to fulfil immediate and emergency medical requirements of the elderly at the old-age home.
