Fire Dept staff put on alert

PANCHKULA: As many as 13 fire tenders will be stationed at different places in Panchkula to tackle any fire incident during Diwali celebrations. Among these 13 fire tenders, one fire tender each will be stationed at Hafed Sector 5 Ground, Barwala, Kalka, Pinjore and Sector 28, where the administration had given sites to sell crackers.

As many as 13 fire tenders will be stationed at different places in Panchkula to tackle any fire incident during Diwali celebrations. Among these 13 fire tenders, one fire tender each will be stationed at Hafed Sector 5 Ground, Barwala, Kalka, Pinjore and Sector 28, where the administration had given sites to sell crackers. There are 52 firefighters in the Panchkula Fire Department. Leave of officials have been cancelled and cracker sellers have been directed to have a fire extinguisher at their stalls. — TNS
