FOSWAC blames MC over vendors Act

CHANDIGARH:The members of the FOSWAC blamed the Municipal Corporation for its failure to implement the vendor's act.



Chandigarh, February 18 

The members of the FOSWAC blamed the Municipal Corporation for its failure to implement the vendor's act. The Executive Committee meeting of 'FOSWAC" was held in Community Centre today.

The chairman Baljinder Singh Bittu said that there was an encroachments on the footpaths, corridors and walking areas. He said the matter should be investigated at the highest level to fix the responsibility for not implementing the vendors act and earmarking of Vendor's Zones in various sectors 

He said due to lack of clear cut and transparent policy regarding the various Community Centres in Chandigarh, some Municipal Councillors are treating these centres as their personal property and are denying the membership of these community centres to the bonafide residents. 

Hitesh Puri Vice Chairman said that the RWAs have not received the payments from MC from the last four months for maintaining the neighbourhood parks. The rates for maintenance were fixed four year back which needs revision due to increase in labour rates.—TNS
