Chandigarh, February 18
A 19-year-old BCA II student of the Post Graduate Government College for Girls (PGGCG), Sector 42, reportedly committed suicide by hanging in her hostel room on the college campus this evening.
Police sources said the victim had been identified as Bhawana. Her hostel mates saw her hanging and informed the hostel authorities about the incident. She was rushed to the hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.
Inspector Naseeb Singh, SHO of the Sector 36 police station, said no suicide note was recovered from Bhawana’s room.
The police informed her family about the incident. An inquest proceeding has been initiated by the Sector 36 police station. —TNS
