Delay in correct pension

Despite my best efforts through repeated correspondence from the level of the principal right up to DEO, DPI, AG Haryana, Education Minister and the Chief Minister of Haryana, my parent state, I did not get my correct pension to date. My claim on arrear of pension can be cleared only on correctly calculating basic pension that is shown as Rs 12,995, which is incorrect because ACP on the completion of 8, 16 and 24 years had not been included. I have not obtained financial assistance under the scheme of “Professional Education of Children of School Teachers” nor communication till date from 2010 to 2013 despite several repeated reminders to the MHRD.

No lessons learnt

It’s been two years since Pathankot air base was attacked by Pakistan-backed ultras resulting in heavy casualties of military personnel. The Tri-Services Committee headed by Lt General Campose submitted its report, but is yet to be implemented. Suicide attack on Sunjuwan camp, Jammu, on Saturday, which also came under the attack in June 2003, came as no surprise as neither the worthy NIA nor the intelligence agencies could ever think that in the cover of frequent firing across the LoC these militants would have infiltrated. Keeping in view the anniversary of Afzal Guru’s hanging, intelligence alerts were issued but this failed to stimulate the forces, and, still the militants launched their strike causing the damage. The Defence Minister has said Pakistan will pay the price for its misadventure and the sacrifice of our soldiers will not go in vain. What price is being talked about? Is this government waiting for another “Kargil” to happen or month-long “standoff” like Op Parakram.

Delay in security refund 

I have surrendered my landline telephone (number 2532904) on May 8, 2017, and deposited the old EPBT telephone set on May 18, 2017.  But to date, I have not received the refund of security deposit from BSNL, Ambala. JK Mehra, Ambala City
