High Court notice to UT Admn, others

CHANDIGARH: Justice Rajan Gupta of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Thursday issued a notice of motion to the Chandigarh Administration and other respondents on a petition seeking transfer of investigation in a cheating case against an immigration firm to the Central Bureau of Investigation.

Justice Rajan Gupta of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Thursday issued a notice of motion to the Chandigarh Administration and other respondents on a petition seeking transfer of investigation in a cheating case against an immigration firm to the Central Bureau of Investigation.

The notice came on a petition by Kanwar Nonihal Singh and 19 other petitioners through Navkiran Singh. Appearing before the Bench, Navkiran Singh said an FIR in the matter was registered on March 31, last year. But the Chandigarh Police had failed to conduct effective investigating in the matter.

He added no less than 373 persons were defrauded on the promise of sending them abroad.
