Ropar, April 15
A 74-year-old resident of nearby Jhallian Kalan village died in a road accident late on Saturday evening.
The deceased, identified as Jaspal Singh, was going towards his home on a two-wheeler. Baljit Singh, son of the deceased, said his father was going from the Ropar side when a car hit him near Bande Mahlan village, injuring him seriously.
He was taken to the Ropar Civil Hospital from where doctors referred him to the PGI, Chandigarh. He died on the way to the hospital. — TNS
