Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s adopted daughter Honeypreet Insan appeared before the Panchkula District Courts today.

She was accompanied by other accused in connection with the Panchkula violence.

The court has committed the case to the Sessions Court for December 21.

Last week, Honeypreet and other accused were given the copies of the chargesheet. The chargesheet was submitted in the Panchkula court on November 28 where the role of top dera functionaries was mentioned.

Honeypreet Kaur, Dilawar Singh, Dhan Singh, Surinder Dhiman, Chamkaur Singh, Rakesh Kumar, CP Arora, Sukhdeep Kaur, Pawan Insan, Govind Insan, Gopal and Khairati Lal were charged with criminal conspiracy, waging war against India and for hiring or conniving to hire persons to join an unlawful assembly. Three more persons are charged with sheltering the accused.

According to the chargesheet, Honeypreet, adopted daughter of dera head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, and Aditya Insan plotted a conspiracy at a meeting at the Sirsa dera on August 17. Duties were assigned. Surender Dhiman, Mahindra Insan, Pawan Insan, Jasbir, Gopal, Dilawar Insan and Govind Insan were part of the conspiracy. A 45-member committee was formed.

The court granted bail to Kherati Lal and Gopal Insan after their counsel pleaded that they had already spent a lot of time behind the bars and there is no recovery required by police against them.
