PANCHKULA:Five boxers from Haryana came out victorious on the first international boxing night, organised by Royal Sports Promotions, at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Sector 3, on Saturday.

Five boxers from Haryana came out victorious on the first international boxing night, organised by Royal Sports Promotions, at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Sector 3, on Saturday. Rajesh Kasana aka Luka won the world title, while Vikas Singh won the Asian title. Sunil Siwach, Kirti and Vikas Khatri also won their respective matches. 

In the Asia silver cruiserweight category, Vikas Singh defeated Sultan Kalalak of Thailand 2-1.  Kalalak was ahead in the first five rounds but Vikas recovered well to win the belt and Rs 2.5 lakh. Debutant Siwach won the featherweight inter-state four-round match against Chinmay Sengupta of Madhya Pradesh. Siwach, a product of the Bhiwani centre, and registered a convincing win. In the women's category, Kirti defeated USA’s Naomi Bacquus 3-1. — TNS
