Chandigarh: Pravesh Utsav (induction ceremony) was observed by students at Special Training Centre, Cluster 20, Government Senior Secondary School, Mauli Jagran. During the programme, students recited poems, sang patriotic songs and presented dance items. Refreshments were distributed among students. Principal Sunita Rani and cluster resource coordinator (CRC) Dr Neelam Bhatt were also present.
Annual day
Sri Guru Gobind Singh Public School, Sector 35B, Chandigarh, held its annual day celebrations. To mark the occasion, a cultural programme was held, which includes folk dances, and a play based on the Sikh history. The dances gave a glimpse of the concept of the unity in diversity. The play was based on the martyrdom of younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh. School principal Kanwaljit Kaur read out the annual report. Meritorious students and other achievers were given prizes.
Scrabble workshop
Students of Saupin’s School, Sector 32, Chandigarh, participated in a scrabble workshop, organised by Harper Collins, on their premises. Dr Manisha Sharma, founder President of the Scrabble Association of Delhi, interacted with students and teachers.
Taekwondo meet
The Punjab Taekwondo Association organised the 20th Punjab State Taekwondo Championship at Golden Bells Public School in Sector 77, Mohali. Students brought laurels to the school by winning two gold and three silver medals. Tushar Chaudhary and Sahaj Sachdeva won the gold while Vedant Lopsang and Sukhjinder bagged the silver.
Workshop
A one-day capacity-building workshop for commerce teachers of DAV Public School, Sector 8C, Chandigarh, was organised on the topic, “Content Enrichment in Commerce”.
