CHANDIGARH:Jalandhar defeated Samana by nine wickets in the opening match of Lawyers’ Premier League at the Sector 16 cricket stadium, here today.

Jalandhar defeated Samana by nine wickets in the opening match of Lawyers’ Premier League at the Sector 16 cricket stadium, here today. 

Batting first, Samana team bundled out on 49 runs with RK Sahota (16) emerging as the main scorer. 

For the bowling side, Vinay and Himanshu claimed three wickets each while Sambhav Kumar claimed two. Sumit and Sachen claimed one wicket each. In reply, Jalandhar achieved the target with Ashok Kumar (23) and Sachin Sharda (16) scoring the major share.    

Ripu Daman claims hat-trick in inter-school 

A fine hat-trick by Ripu Daman (3/10) helped St Stephen's School, Sector 45, log eight-wicket win over St Kabir School, Sector 25, in the inter-school cricket U-14 championship. Batting first, St Kabir boys were bundled out for just 50 runs in 15 over. Ripu Daman claimed  hat-trick while Niyam claimed 3/11. In reply, St Stephen’s boys posted 54/8 in 10 overs with the help of Kartik (32) and Balihar (9).
