Sources in the operation cell of the UT police said Ashwani Kumar, who owns the medical store, had informed them that he had received a WhatsApp call from an unknown person around 10 days ago.

The caller claimed to be a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The person threatened the victim and demanded extortion money. Following this, the operation cell provided security to Kumar.
