LALRU: The police on Monday night seized a truck in which 380 cartons of English wine were loaded.

The police on Monday night seized a truck in which 380 cartons of English wine were loaded. However, the driver managed to give the police the slip.

As per information, acting on a tip-off, a police party had laid a naka near Jharmeri village on Monday night. A truck bearing a Punjab registration number, which was coming from the Ambala side, was signalled to stop. But the driver managed to flee away in the dark, leaving the truck behind.

During a checking of the truck, the police recovered 380 cartons of English wine. A case under the Excise Act has been registered at the Lalru police station.
