Mohali: The police have arrested a man for allegedly refusing to take care of his mother and driving her out of house. The accused, Kanwaljeet Singh, was later released on bail.



Mohali: The police have arrested a man for allegedly refusing to take care of his mother and driving her out of house. The accused, Kanwaljeet Singh, was later released on bail. On directions of the District Legal Services Authority, the police booked two sons of Baljit Kaur under Section 24 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007. The woman, a former employee of the Civil Secretariat, had been at a gurudwara in Phase I for the last five years. Her younger son Mandeep Singh, who was in Canada, is yet to be arrested. —TNS
