Chandigarh, December 8

A local court on Friday sent a 29-year-old Mansa resident to five-year jail in an attempt to murder case. Convict Gagandeep had opened fire at three youths outside Leisure Valley in Sector 10 after an argument over the parking of vehicles. Another accused in the case, Jagdeep Singh (37), a Sector 21 resident, was acquitted due to the lack of evidence.

The police had received a complaint from Dadu Majra resident Rahul that he was with his friends Shantanu and Praveen at Leisure Valley when they parked their car behind a Polo car, wherein a couple and a child were sitting. The driver asked them to move the car immediately and an argument ensued.

Praveen pushed Gagandeep, who took out a 32 bore revolver and fired at them. The first bullet missed the three but the second one hit Praveen in the back.
