Chandigarh: A 36-year-old man has been arrested by the police for snatching a mobile phone from a woman.



Chandigarh: A 36-year-old man has been arrested by the police for snatching a mobile phone from a woman. According to the police, the victim, a resident of Sector 20, had reported that an unknown person snatched her mobile phone near the Housing Board light point, Mauli Jagran. A case was registered at the Mauli Jagran police station. Later, the accused, Ram Lal, a resident of Timber Market, Mauli Jagran, was arrested in the case. The police said the antecedents of the accused were being verified. TNS

Woman ends her life 

Chandigarh: A 30-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence in Modern Housing Complex (MHC), Mani Majra, on Sunday. The police said no suicide note was found. Sources said the victim had been identified as Roma Chawla. The police said the victim and her husband Sukhant were sleeping in the same room. In the morning, Sukhwant found her hanging from the grill a ventilator. TNS
