Man kills girlfriend’s mother over money

A man allegedly murdered his girlfriend’s mother and threw her body in the Bhakra canal over money.

Interestingly, he accompanied his girlfriend to trace her mother but the girl, who noticed the blood stains in his lover’s car got suspicious, which led to solving the murder mystery.

SSP Alka Meena said just a few days ago a young lady named Rozy, a resident of Model Town in Mandi Gobindgarh, complained to the police that her mother had been missing from the house for the past two days.

DSP Manpreet Singh said Rozy, a dancer with a DJ firm.

Rozy said she had gone with her sister for a DJ programme and when she came back, her mother was found missing. Her elder sister told her that their mother was going with Gurpreet in his car.

The DSP said the same day police informed her that a body of a lady was found floating in the Bhakra canal near Shutrana town and took them there for identification. They identified the body of their mother.

The DSP said Gurpreet Singh and his friend Hardeep Singh were arrested. During interrogation, they confessed that to grab money, they murdered her mother and threw the body in the canal.

The DSP said the police had recovered the knife, car with blood stains and the clothes of the accused blotted with blood. A case under Sections 302 and 341 of the IPC has been registered.
