With councillors alleging inaction by MC Commissioner Jitender Yadav for over two months against Medical Officer of Health (MOH) PS Bhatti over the issue of allegedly misbehaving with councillor Rajesh Kalia, the House meeting was adjourned on Monday.
Almost all councillors went to the well of the House and asked the Yadav what action had been taken on the matter.
As Yadav failed to give a proper reply, Mayor Davesh Moudgil asked councillors to adjourn the House for 10 minutes. However, the councillors demanded that the House be adjourned for the day.
Bhatti was not present in the House on Monday. He was absent during a meeting in February too. Thus, no listed agenda could be taken during the day. All agendas will now be taken up during the next House meeting.
Kalia was the first to reach the well of the house, followed by councillor Bharat Kumar. Later, all councillors joined them.
Former mayor and councillor Arun Sood said they would not tolerate disrespect to councillors at any cost. He referred to the Asha Jaswal episode in which FIR was registered against her and two councillors for visiting a child destitute home and the recent incident in which councillor Chanderwati Shukla sat outside a government school to protest an alleged misbehaviour by the Principal.
