Minister pays surprise visit to medical college hostel

PATIALA: Brahm Mohindra, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education and Parliamentary Affairs, Punjab, along with his wife, paid a surprise visit to a girls’ hostel of the Government Medical College, Patiala.

Brahm Mohindra, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education and Parliamentary Affairs, Punjab, along with his wife, paid a surprise visit to a girls’ hostel of the Government Medical College, Patiala.

The purpose of the visit was to interact with medical students and know the ground realities and problems being faced by them. The undergraduate and postgraduate medical students interacted with the minister and his wife and shared the difficulties being faced by them. They were assured that the needful would be done.

The minister visited the mess and the kitchen to check cleanliness there. The minister also gave a patient hearing to the issues raised by mess servants. 

The Principal of the college, Deputy Medical Superintendent and the hostel in-charge also reached the spot.

The minister asked the Principal to solve the issues raised by the students. He also assured the students that their issues regarding accommodation, cleanliness, sanitation and water supply would be taken up by the departments concerned.
