Panchkula: The Panchkula police nabbed a vehicle lifter here. According to the police, the accused, who was 14-year-old, was caught during a naka at the Nada Sahib bridge. The police said two more juveniles were accompanying the accused, who fled from the spot. These minor accused were involved in a number of vehicle lifting incidents, the police added. TNS
2 booked for outraging modesty
Chandigarh: A Sector 19-based tenant and a landlord have filed cross-complaints against each other for outraging the modesty of a woman. A female member of the landlord’s family alleged that Vinod Batra, the tenant, had outraged her modesty. He was booked under Sections 354 and 509, IPC. Later, a member of the tenant’s family levelled similar allegations against Yashpal, the landlord, who was booked under Sections 354 and 354-A, IPC. TNS

Chandigarh: A Colony No. 4 resident, Nagender Yadav, alleged that two unknown persons duped him of Rs 40,000 in Phase II, Industrial Area, Chandigarh, on Friday. A case under Sections 420 and 120-B, IPC, has been registered. TNS
