A six-month old pit bull puppy, Mogambo, owned by Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMIC), which was stolen from outside the judicial officer’s house, has been left back at the house allegedly by the thieves.

The UT police had registered a case of theft on Sunday.

Sources said it was suspected that school students stole the puppy. A vegetable vendor reportedly saw two boys stealing the puppy. The accused were riding an Activa scooter.

The incident took place on Saturday after which the police were informed about the theft. Inspector Dalip Rattan, SHO of the Sector 19 police station, said the accused opened the main gate of the house and stole the puppy.
