Morning ragas emanating from Swar Raginee recital by classical music exponent Subhash Ghosh started World Music Day organised by Chandigarh Tourism at Sukhna Lake this morning.

Subhash Ghosh opened up with delineation of raga 'Bhairavi' through a composition in 'dheema ek tal' followed by medium-paced 'madhya lya bandish' which later melted into faster 'drut lya', both in 'teen tal' rhythmic pattern. Ghosh weaved soothing musical phrases and embellished his recital with taans, meend and lyakari. Anurag Aggarwal, IAS, and Jatinder Yadav, IAS, graced the recital.

Meanwhile, the celebrations attained inevitable climax as the Bollywood playback singer Mamta Sharma lighted up, delayed beyond schedule,  musical programme organised by Chandigarh Tourism at the Sector 17 Plaza here today.  The impatient crowd craved for the 'Munni Badnam Hui', which she later rendered to perfection. She was equally impressive with her hits like 'Fevicol se', 'Tinku jiya', 'Aa re pritam pyare', 'Aanrkali disco chali' and 'Ghagra'.
