MP Kirron Kher on Tuesday laid the foundation stone of two Government High Schools at two different sites in Maloya. The tentative cost of construction is Rs 15 crore for each school. The tenders for the construction of these schools have been allotted and the construction will begin very soon. The target for completion of construction of these schools is 18 months. Admission to EWS seats begins
Final round for filling the 126 EWS seats in 17 private schools of the city started on Tuesday. The interested candidates are to submit registration forms at Government Senior Secondary School, Sector 19, by May 22. In case a candidate wants to register for more than one school, separate forms will have to be submitted. There are a total of 17 schools whose 25 per cent seats for the EWS category students are yet to be filled. Maximum seats are available at Bal Niketan School, Sector 37, with 21, followed by Manav Mangal School in Sector 21 with 18 seats.—TNS
BA students get wrong paper
Another wrong question paper had students in panic on Tuesday as the BA (Semester VI) question paper contained questions on human rights. on Monday, a wrong question paper was issued for the BSc (Semester VI) for chemistry exam. When students received their Home Science question paper, they raised the alarm that except for the first two questions, the rest were from the human rights syllabus. A fresh question paper had to be issued via e-mail to colleges from the Controller of Examination’s office.—TNS
Links in cheating scam traced
The police have traced links in the cheating scam to Haryana. The police team has been sent to nab the accused whose name shave been revealed by the accused arrested for impersonating in the SSC exam and cheating in the examination centre with the help of two mobile phones
that was hidden in his clothes. Ankit, a BA-II student and a resident of Rajpura village in Jind district, was arrested after he was caught impersonating as candidate Bhudev in the SSC Multi-tasking (MTS) Exam at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 35. The accused had tied a mobile phone on his chest through which he clicked pictures of the question paper which was further sent to another person.
The accused had hidden another mobile phone in his undergarment which was attached with an ear phone, to receive answers.—TNS
