Chandigarh, October 14

A meeting of the district council of Punjab and Chandigarh College Teachers Union (PCCTU) was held at DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh, regarding the non-payment of evaluation, re-evaluation and paper setting dues.

It was discussed in the meeting that many teachers have still not been given their dues since December 2016. Moreover, teachers have not received any honorarium for May 2017 evaluation, re-evaluation and paper setting duties, in spite of many requests. The teachers have performed their duty on time. However, the university has not been able to provide results on time. Dr Himanshu, secretary, PCCTU, said such callousness towards examination and evaluation process shows the intent of Panjab University towards its students. Prof Bhupinder Singh, president of the union, warned a dharna by college teachers from October 23 outside the VC’s office and boycott of all exam-related duties, if the dues were not cleared till Diwali.
