Kharar: The Kharar City police have arrested Ranjit Singh of Chajjumajra Colony following the recovery of six bottles of duplicate Kesh King hair oil from his shop. ASI Sikander Singh said a complaint regarding this was made by Budh Singh, an investigating officer of a detective agency. He said the shopkeeper was selling duplicate Kesh King hair oil. A case under the Copyright Act has been registered against the accused. OC

Bid to outrage woman’s modesty

Kharar: The police have booked Sukhwinder Singh of Basauli village for allegedly trying to outrage the modesty of a woman of Old Mata Gujri Enclave in Kharar. A case under Sections 354, 354B, 506 and 508 of the IPC has been registered against the accused. The complainant alleged that she was suffering from pain in her stomach for the past 8 to 9 months. The accused made an attempt to outrage her modesty by luring her to treat her pain. OC

70 units of blood collected

Chandigarh: To encourage and sensitise people to the noble cause of blood donation and to spread awareness about cancer, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Northern Region, Indian Society of Blood Transfusion & Immunohematology and Gilard Electronics Private Ltd, organised a blood donation camp and cancer awareness programme at the CII NR Headquarters, Chandigarh, on Wednesday. A team of doctors and paramedical staff from the GMCH-32 conducted the camp and collected 70 units of blood. Sukhdeep Gill, Regional Director, Global Cancer Concern India, said: “To prevent cancer, it is crucial to invest this time in physical exercise like yoga, gardening, dancing, walking or any other such activity. Unhealthy lifestyle is the cause of 40 per cent of cancers.” TNS
