Chandigarh, December 7
Panjab University girls won the gold medal in the North-Zone Inter-University Tennis Tournament at Guru Jambeshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, today.
In the final, Panjab University blanked Delhi University 2-0.
Earlier, the side had overcome Punjabi University, Patiala, 2-1 to seal a spot in the final, while they had defeated Kurukshetra University 2-0 in the quarterfinals.
Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, claimed the third position, while Punjabi University had to be content with the fourth place finish.
The top four teams will now participate in the All-India Inter-University Tennis Championship to be held atGandhi Institute of Technology and Management, Visakhapatnam, from January 6 to 10.
The Panjab University team included Nikita Bishnoi, Guleen Singh, Seerat Kaur and Jannat Khurana.
