Chandigarh, May 22

Now, everyone wanting to enter the administrative block of Panjab University (PU) is required to enter his details and purpose of visit in a register. Starting today, details like name, address, purpose of visit, branch and the employee to be visited, along with entry and exit time, need to be filled.

Security guards stationed outside the administrative block say that the system has been started on directions of the Registrar. As of today, only outsiders were asked to fill the register. However, on duty guards informed that from Tuesday, even the employees will have to fill the register. Despite repeated attempts, the Registrar was not available for comment.

The move comes a week after a fire gutted most part of the accounts branch in the building. Any substantial progress in the investigation of the incident is yet to come to the fore.
