A peon, recently relieved from duty from Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 38 (West) has filed a harassment and eve-teasing complaint against the principal of the school, Chitranjan Singh, to the SSP via a public window.

The complainant has alleged that the principal touched her in an appropriate manner and abused her on various occasions. In her complaint, she has alleged that after Chitranjan was transferred to the school in February last year, he promoted her from mid-day meal worker to peon. However, he started harassing her after that saying that he had made efforts to promote her.

The complaint reads that in June this year, the complainant was touched by Chitranjan in his office. She rushed outside the room and the principal allegedly abused her and told her that she was made peon for his entertainment. On August 4, the complainant and two others were relieved from duty and the principal said he had not received any sanction from the DPI for them.

However, the other two were recalled after a few days. The complainant went to the school on August 12 to request the principal to reemploy her. However, the accused allegedly held her hand and tried to pull her towards himself. A commotion ensued and the complainant managed to flee. She approached the employee’s union for help and today, filed a complaint with the SSP.

She has also filed a complaint with the Director, School Education, Rubinderjit Singh Brar. The complainant has recorded a conversation between her and the principal on her phone. The principal can be heard abusing and shouting, saying that she had spoiled the atmosphere of the school and asked her to get out of the room.

Chitranjan rubbished the allegations and said: “The peon was relieved 15 days ago as the sanction was not received from the DPI. She, along with the union, is trying to pressure me to reemploy her, which is not in my hands.”

Meanwhile, the DSE could not be contacted despite repeated attempts.
